Check List
Here is what you will need to successfully complete this course:
Review each chapter lecture and take quiz that follows the chapter
Upon successful completion of each quiz, download and save certificate. You MUST score an 80% or higher on each quiz to show understanding. You may retake each quiz.
Complete all Chapters and the Final Written Test.
You have 30 DAYS to complete the online portion once approved to take the class. After 30 days, you will need to re-register for the course.
The final written test is a review of the protocols.

It is not timed
You must score a 80% or higher on it.
Once all chapters and the final are completed, please contact Derek Foley at dfoley@mcleancountyems.org to set up ride time. Each ECRN is required by law to do a 8 hour shift on an ambulance. Prior to field experience, you must turn in all certificates from each chapter quiz to show completion.
For your ride time experience, you must fill out a "Field Shift Summary Form." A copy of that can be found at: https://www.mcleancountyems.org/studentform
You have only 45 days from the completion of the online portion to finish your field time. Failure to do it in the allotted time will mean you have to re-take the course.
When you have completed the field ride time, you must submit for your ECRN license at the MCAEMS Office, located at 1609 Northbrook Dr, Suite 8, Normal, IL. Please bring a check for $55 made out to IDPH.
You have 30 days following completion of ALL parts of the course to turn their paperwork into the EMS for licensure. Failure to do so will mean they have to retake ALL parts of the course.
Upon receipt of the your license, you may function as a ECRN.
