Class Announcement
This class is for current registered nurses who wish to obtain a Pre-Hospital RN license from the Illinois Department of Public Health. Upon successful completion of this course, you will challenge the National Registry of EMT's written and practical testing. This course is designed to by completed partially online at the students pace. Clinicals must be completed at a MCAEMS associated hospital and ambulance service. However, clinical agreements could potentially be set up at outside hospitals if set up in advance.
Dates: April 14th - July 7th, 2020
Location: McLean County Area EMS Office (Normal, IL)
Class Hours: Hyrbid Online and in person

4/14/2020 - 0900 - 1200 - Orientation
5/5/2020 - 0800 - 1600
5/19/2020 - 0800 - 1600
6/2/2020 - 0800 - 1600
6/16/2020 - 0800 - 1600
7/7/2020 - 0900 - 1400 - Final
Course Length: 88 Hours
Cost: $500 (books seperate)
Book: Paramedic Care: Practice & Principals Volume 1-5 edition with MyLab Brady Access Card.
Basic Arrhythmia's 8th Edition with MyLab Brady Access Card.

Clinicals: 48 Hours in Emergency Department (unless at least 1 year documented work experience)
8 Hours in Labor & Delivery with 2 live births (unless documented work experience in L & D)
5 live intubations in the operating room
20 ALS team leads on a 911 ambulance
Immunizations: Flu - Current Year
MMR
TB - Within past year (1 Step)
Hepatitis B
DT
Chicken Pox or titers drawn to show immunity

Liability Insurance: Proof of liability insurance

Prerequisites: Age 18 or older
Current Illinois Drivers License or State ID
Cannot have a felony
High School Diploma or GED by graduation
Active State of Illinois Registered Nursing License
ACLS, PALS or PEPP, TNS or TNCC or PTHLS or ITLS must be completed prior to being approved for testing

Enrollment Capacity: 8 minimum/25 maximum (Class needs a minimum of 8 to proceed. if it does not meet the minimum, everyone will be refunded fully)
