TITLE: AGENCY INSPECTION

POLICY STATEMENT:

The BroMenn/St. Joseph EMS Systems are responsible to the Illinois Department of Public Health for compliance by their respective EMS Agencies of the Illinois EMS Act [210 ILSC 50], Rules and Regulations [77 Ill Adm. Code 515, adopted 4/15/97] as well as joint EMS Systems' Plans for required equipment and supplies.

GOAL/PURPOSE:

To assure that all agency participants of the EMS Systems will meet the respective System and I.D.P.H. standards for equipment and supplies for an EMS vehicle.

POLICY/PROCEDURE:

A. In accordance with the Rules and Regulations derived from the State of Illinois EMS legislation, inspections may be conducted at any time at any EMS Agency by I.D.P.H. officials, the EMS Medical Director and/or the EMS System Coordinator.

B. At the time of these inspections, the respective EMS System Coordinator shall file a report on the results of the inspection with the appropriate EMS Medical Director. If remedial action is necessary, the EMS System Coordinator and/or EMSMD shall make a determination of what shall be required to bring the vehicle or agency into compliance.

C. Each EMS Agency (BLS, ILS, ALS) is required to complete routine inspection to insure compliance. Monthly documentation of a complete inspection shall be sent to the respective EMS System Coordinator where it will be placed in the agency's file.
